Music on the radio

As some of you may know that I"m deaf but I love to listen to music. I decided to let you know every time music comes on the radio, I may recognize some songs but not all. I never been a fan of trying to figure out what the name of a song that I like but that's changed! There's a new radio set up (I assume has been out for a while) that you can have in your cars that list the song and artist! Can I say I LOVE this!!? It's the little rings that make it worthwhile!

Yes I can hear music if you are wondering. I like all kinds: country, pop, metal, alternative, new age, celtic, classical, broadway, rock..list goes on..although one thing not too keen on is rap cause it's quite a feat to follow it sometimes. If there's something I like, I will learn the words to the song and memorize it. Yes I am a geek too. Nothing new there.

If you got any cool music I should check out, let me know! Thought I'd share this little bit to you all.

Zingo Game

Overview of the Game:

This innovative game encourages pre-readers and early readers alike to match the pictures and words on their challenge cards with the tiles revealed in the Zingo! Zinger device. The first player with a full card wins the game by yelling “Zingo!” Two levels of play, and several game variations keep the zaniness going for hours!

Ages: 4 and up ------ Players: 2 - 9

My five year old got this for Christmas and at first he was not sure about the game. After playing it a few times, he loves it! He asks to play it all the time with me! Great game. Even my youngest joins in on it even though he's two! I suggest to pick up this game today if you are looking for something different.

Emily Owens MD Tv Show

Okay I admit that I watch Emily Owens MD due to that Justin Hartley is on it! The moment I saw the first episode, I thought this would be a great show to watch! I really liked the entire cast and the story behind it. It is funny, friendly and also tackles some real real issues. Yes, there is a bit friendly rivialry involved in the show but I can see other issues pop up such as how people react to friendships and various situations that one might get involved with by choice or just by accident.

Basically here is the plot of the show:
The series follows the life of Emily Owens (Mamie Gummer), a first-year intern at Denver Memorial Hospital, where she realizes that her med-school crush Will Collins (Justin Hartley) and her high school nemesis Cassandra Kopelson (Aja Naomi King) are also interning. Emily has to struggle with her affections for Will while trying to battle it out with Cassandra to land the coveted spot as the research assistant of the world-famous cardiothoracic surgeon, Gina Bandari (Necar Zadegan).

I heard CW network is canceling the series! What?? Guess the ratings didn't make or so? I hate when a good show that I enjoy gets thrown out the window before a second chance is given. Will another network pick it up? I hope it will be picked up somewhere. I feel bad for the actors that worked so hard on this show, they have done such a great job. I look forward to the rest of the episodes that will be aired!

If you haven't seen this show yet, I recommend you do! Watch it NOW

Everneath Review

Everneath (Everneath #1)

by Brodi Ashton

Well, I spotted this book in the library the other day. The illustration and the title caught my eye.

After about 3 minutes of reading the first couple of pages, I was hooked. It is a vampire-ish theme book but without the need for blood, instead it's a soul-like- emotion/feelings that gets "stolen/shared". The main character flips between two time periods- before the "feed" and after the "feed". To me- the story kind of reminds me of when I was questioning is there a heaven/hell and are there only those two options period of time. No middle ground?! Well, the story does a great job tackling that middle ground and stems from a myth.

The author does a great job setting up the plot, the climax, and keeps you wanting to find out what happens next. Speaking of what happens next, as soon as I finished the book, I wanted to know if the author wrote a second series. I hope so!!

Check it out if you're looking for this kind of book!! I'm off to the library to find more books to read. Then maybe I'll browse the web and harass the author- I mean- let the author know he/she needs to write the second part ASAP!!!!!

Little Blue Truck

Little Blue Truck
by Alice Schertle, Jill McElmurry
Hardcover, 32 pages
Published May 1st 2008 by Harcourt Children's Books

Overview:
Beep! Beep! Beep! Meet Blue. A muddy country road is no match for this little pick up--that is, until he gets stuck while pushing a dump truck out of the muck. Luckily, Blue has made a pack of farm animal friends along his route. And they're willing to whatever it takes to get their pal back on the road.

Great board book! My youngest child love this! We read it all the time. If you have boys, this is great book to own!
